Trash to Treasure

You know the old saying, “One person’s trash is another’s treasure.”  Whether you are hoping to buy or sell, this is a great time of year for yard sales.

If you’re shopping for some new-to-you treasures, watch for local sales, check out flea markets, or visit secondhand stores. If you’re hoping to clear out some clutter, consider holding a yard sale on your own or with some friends. If you don’t want to set up a sale, try hosting a virtual yard sale online.

You could also give things away or find things through Freecycle or local charitable organizations, such as Goodwill or The Salvation Army.

If your yard sale is in connection with moving to a new home, some tips for a green move can be found in our earlier blog post, On the Move.
