Americans Need More Recycling Education

A recent study by the National Waste & Recycling Association found “American recycling habits have room for improvement” because one-third of Americans are unclear on what they can recycle in their community.

One in five admitted to adding material to the recycling bin even if they weren’t sure that it was recyclable, and one in 10 respondents admitted to placing recyclables in the trash if the recycling bin is full.

Sharon H. Kneiss, president and CEO of the association, said, “Americans should ‘know before they throw’ when recycling.” Eco Partners is here to help make sure your recyclers are well educated and “know before they throw.” Contact us for more information about how we can help you deliver local environmental educational information – cost-effectively and efficiently.
